By way of explanation

My last entry is an addled reference to having my wisdom teeth removed last Thursday.

In all honesty, I have no recollection of posting that entry. I had gotten intravenous sedation for the surgery, and I really don't remember much of that day after getting in the chair and taking my boots off. There are a few little flashes, like when Ross came to escort me home and I couldn't understand how I had gotten into a different chair at the dentist's office. I'm guessing Ross was pretty much on the money with "quivering mass of helplessness". The lip balm incident sounds familiar (aside from the passing out, it's pretty difficult to apply when you have no feeling in your lips), but I honestly don't even remember if we were in the cab or the dentist's office or that Ross was actually there at the time. At any rate: many thanks, Ross, for getting me home. I really do appreciate it. : )

Also thanks to Derek for among other things feeding me and buying me ice cream over my heavily drugged and feeble weekend. But this has already been discussed at length more privately, so I'm not really going to go into it here. : )

Anyway, in the aftermath of my fugue state, my teeth are pretty good, my medication hasn't been agreeing with me, and I seem to have a near-constant headache that goes from my jaws to the top of my head. My sleep schedule is also massively messed up. Every day this week, I could have happily gone to bed at 6:00pm, and actually have done so some nights. The problem with this is that I wake up somewhere between 4:00 and 5:00am, unable to go back to sleep. This is kind of a problem, since my productive hours tend to be in the evening and late at night, so I haven't been getting much work done this week. At this stage of the game, that's a Very Bad Thing. So I really need to work on that. But... I'm so tired.

The other apparent side effect that seems to be totally random is that I don't want pop anymore. The few times I've tried to have any pop since my mouth got better, it's tasted wrong and too sweet. I don't know why this would be the case, because everything else tastes normal. I guess I'll just have to wait and see if it goes away.

"And it's all thanks to a little thing called addiction to painkillers."

Interesting times.

I meant to post this a long time ago, and am randomly remembering now. I'm sure anyone interested has seen it by now, but anyway...
