Convert

So it seems that since borrowing seasons 1 & 2 of Buffy from me on Sunday afternoon Andrea has watched the entire first season, and is currently about five episodes into the second. Note: she has never watched the show before, and had only borrowed them on a whim.

The sky is falling

I've gotten to the point now where I'm getting old enough that when I go to an amusement park, I actually kind of wonder about how safe the rides are. The first few rides I'm on, I always end up listening nervously to the sputtering engine and the creaking of the ride itself. Then I convince myself to quit worrying, and I forget the scary noises and go have fun. So this weekend was pretty much on par for the course as far as that's concerned, when Andrea and I went to the fair in the mall parking lot in New Minas.

Except for the Ferris wheel. I have to admit, I was more than a little suprized when a light bulb fell off the Ferris wheel, hit me in the leg, and then fell many feet down to the ground below. Even as high as we were (very near to the top), we could still actually hear it hit the ground below. I realize that it was just a light bulb, but it was still a little disturbing.

Not that that really stopped us. We just avoided the Ferris wheel from then on.

We proceeded on to discover (much to our disappointment) that anyone taller than maybe 4'6" isn't allowed in the bouncy castle, or on any of the other kiddie rides, even if they're not currently occupied by kids. More importantly, we also discovered that there is something deeply amusing about trying to do the moves to 'YMCA' while riding the Roundup.
