If there's one thing Returnofest is all about, it's...
In ten minutes I will have finished my last shift at the USC for 2003.
In an hour and 15 minutes, Returnofest begins.
In four days, seven hours, and 25 minutes, I head back to Newfoundland for Christmas break. An hour and 29 mintes later (plus half an hour's worth of time change), I get there.
Then Christmas. Then New Year's. Then back to Acadia. Then CUTC.
Plus all the little things in between.
After a semester largely lacking in epochs, it seems that life is getting interesting again.
There is a new store next to the quick-way. I was very surprised by this, since I go to the quick-way for one thing or another almost every day, and I'd never noticed the place before. Granted, they only opened today, but I hadn't even noticed that anything new was going in there.
Anyway, it's called Tao Chow Foods (link to be provided when the URL on their sign actually begins to exist), and from the name and the sign, I assumed that it was a restaurant of some kind. Upon closer inspection, it seems to be some sort of strange miniature hybrid of fast food place/grocery store/health food shop, the like of which I've never seen. They had a lot of baked stuff; cookies, bread, waffles (do waffles count as baked?), etc. They also have a lot of frozen dishes. Various types of homemade pasta, fried rice, soup, and other such things. They're planning on bringing in fruits and veggies, just because there really isn't anywhere at the top of the hill to get any. And they have paninis. Mmmm. I had one of those, and they're pretty good. I also picked up some veggie fried rice, butter cookies, and cranberry almond granola bars. I've yet to try any of the non-panini stuff, but it looks pretty good.
The food there is predominently vegetarian, with a few concessions to carnivores-at-heart such as myself. Most of the ingredients are organic or free-range. And the prices seem more than reasonable. I'm hoping to really get into this place because really, it's cheaper, more convenient, and probably better for me than any of the delivery I usually get.
